Three of a Kind

Arn't leopards just beautiful? For some reason I've been opsessing over their spots latley. These are just a few of the leopards that live in the world today. It is a sad fact though that these beautiful cats are being hunted for their furs, right now there are ery few still alive in the wild.

Snow Leopard (top)

Unlike their other cousins, these leopards are gray-white in color and build for the cold. They are ENDANGARED!!!! or very close to being whiped out! They are smaller than the avarege leopard, weighing about 120 lb. Their long tails help them mantain balance. In the winter, long tuffs of hair grow between their toes which lelp them cling to ice. They feed mostly off small mammals and antelope. They are great hunters, it's amazing to wach the way they can hunt prey while jumping off cliffs!

Clouded Leopard (Right)

This leopard seems a lot larger in the picture than it really is. It actually is only about 15-20lb. They feed off small rodents, birds and young deer. Named after their large, cloudlike spots they are very beautiful. Sadly, these animals were hunted near extiction for their furs. It's estimated there are LESS THAN 10,000 left in the wild...

African Leopard (left)

This is what people see when they think of a leopard. No it is not the same thing as a jaguar, they are found in Africa. These too are ENDANGARED. They are very rarley seen. These cats are known for their ability to climb trees and attack antelope from above. They will also drag their prey into trees, pretty smart considering lions, hyenas or a lot of other predators can't come after them.

The reason I put this up, is because as beutiful as these animals are they are dissapearing. Not only cause of loss of habitat, but humans too. Every year houndreds of animals are slautered by hunters, who only sell thieir coats for money. You can stop this by NOT BUYING LEOPARD FUR!!! It will only urge people to kill more! Also, you cna donate money at your local zoo and help conservetion!
